Eighty years since the first Moomin story

In the very first Moomin story, The Moomins and the Great Flood, Moominpappa has been missing for a long time. A flood covers everything under it, leaving creatures without shelter, Moominmamma and Moomintroll included. By getting help and helping others, the family is finally reunited. In a beautiful valley, they find the Moominhouse.

In the many stories that have followed, the Moominhouse has taken in many new family members, residents, visitors, and shelter-seekers. It's a place where everyone is welcome as they are – symbol of the Moomin way of life and the foundation of the Moomin 80 anniversary.

All hearts unite – The Red Cross collaboration

We all hope that when we come knocking on the door in our time of need, there will be someone to welcome us, just like the Moomins would. For the anniversary year, Moomin Arabia has partnered with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in gathering funds for those in need.

The first output of the partnership is the Home at Last collection, available exclusively in Japan from April 2025. More additions to the collection will be arriving in the Nordic countries during the second half of the year. For each item sold, one euro is donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the humanitarian work of the IFRC.
