What is Blue Love collection? 

It’s the collection inspired from the original Love mug from 1996. The blue edition of the iconic Love illustration was previously only available in Japan since last Valentine’s Day.

 

Why was the mug originally only sold in Japan?

The Blue Love mug & collection was first launched exclusively in Japan in February 2024 to celebrate the Valentine’s Day.

 

Why is it now sold in the Nordics as well?

The blue edition attracted so much interest among the collectors and Moomin fans elsewhere that we decided to delight everyone as an anniversary surprise, and bring the special mug and collection also more widely available. Now we are also pre-celebrating the Moomin 80 anniversary with the collection, as the mugs have the special Moomin 80 back stamps until the end of 2025.

 

Is the mug only available for a limited time?

The mug with the Moomin 80 back stamp is only available until the end of anniversary year 2025.

 

Is the mug exactly the same as the Japan version?

No – the mug launching to sales on 30th October is a tribute for Moomin 80 anniversary, hence it has the special Moomin 80 back stamp. Otherwise the mug is the same as the Japanese edition.

 

Where is the Blue Love mug / collection sold?

The products will be sold online at moominarabia.com and Moomin.com. 

In addition to these, the mug is also sold in UK at Moomin Shop Covent Garden and at Moomin Shop Camden. 

 

How much does the Blue Love mug cost?

Are there any additional Blue Love products to buy?

Yes, there is a whole collection of Blue Love items coming to sales on 30th October 2024. In addition to the 0.3L mug the collection includes a mini mug, a mini plate, a kitchen towel, a mini towel, a hand towel and a bath towel.

 

When will the sales start and how many mugs will be sold?

The mugs will be available from 30th of October 2024 at 11.00 from the Moomin Arabia webshop moominarabia.com. The physical Moomin Arabia brand stores and Iittala stores start their sales according to their normal opening times. The mug is also sold at Moomin.com webshop and in selected Moomin shops. The first batch coming to sale is a limited one and sold as long as the stock lasts. However, there will be also additional stock coming later and the mug will be available in 2025 as well. 

 

Is it possible that the products will be sold out immediately?

The products will become available on the said date (30.10.2024 at 11.00) and the first batch is sold as long as the stock lasts. The first stock will be limited, but there will be also additional stock coming later and the mug will be available in all of 2025 as well. 

 

Are the mugs numbered, or otherwise marked in some way? For example, with a bottom stamp?

Like many other special Moomin mugs, also the Blue Love, Moomin 80 edition mug has a stamp on the bottom of the mug. In this case, the stamp of the mug is Moomin 80 anniversary backstamp. The mugs have no numbering in the bottom. 

 

Which story is the Blue Love illustration based on?

The collection’s illustrations depicting Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll’s deep relationship as playmates and sweethearts are the same as those of the pink Love Moomin mug, the all-time Moomin Arabia favourite. The 0.3-litre Love mug has been in production for the longest of all Moomin mugs, since 1996.

The motifs in the Love Collection are based on four scenes from Tove and Lars Jansson’s Moomin comics. The warm hug with the sun in the background is from Moomin and the Martians (1957), their encounter on a path is from Snorkmaiden Goes Rococo (1958), and the painting scene from Moomin Builds a House (1956).

 

Are there special promotions?

No, there will be no special promotions.

 

Will there be any other Moomin 80 products launched?

Yes, during the anniversary year 2025 there will be other product launches also related to Moomin 80 anniversary. We have also announced the very special hand-painted mug “Home” to be raffled during the early 2025. You can join our Moomin Family for loyal customers and/or follow us in our social media to get to know all of our launches among the first ones.

 

Buying process

 

Will there be a queuing system for Blue Love launch?

Yes. To ensure the best possible customer experience we will set up a queuing system on the site. To make sure the site performance we are not able to let everyone in simultaneously.

 

How does the queueing system work?

Site will be blocked already in the afternoon of 29.10. On 30.10. at 11:00 you will get to the queue in randomized order and you will see the estimated waiting time while waiting. 

Keep your browser open while waiting in line, and ensure you have a working internet connection, and that your device has enough battery power. You will see your estimated wait time on the page. When it’s your turn, you will have 10 minutes to complete your shopping on moominarabia.com.

If your browser is not active, you will have 10 minutes to access the Moomin Arabia website. When it’s your turn, you will be automatically directed to the Moomin Arabia website. If your browser is not active, you will receive a notification when it’s your turn, after which you will have 10 minutes to access the Moomin Arabia website.

After queuing, you will be directed to our webshop, where you can shop as usual. Once you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that due to the high volume of orders, there may be delays in receiving the confirmation.

 
Is there any limitations on how many products I can buy?

The number of items is limited to 20 mugs per one buyer. 

 

Is it possible to reserve the products in advance?

It is not possible to reserve or order the items in advance.

 

There were technical difficulties in the online store and I couldn’t get my order through. Who can I contact with my complaints and feedback?

We apologize any inconvenience you might have experienced while ordering the mugs. With any feedback you can contact our customer service through Contact Us.

 

When will I receive the mug if ordering online?

The mugs will be delivered after the purchase is done, the approximate delivery time is 10 working days.

 

Will there be a raffle for Blue Love?

No – the raffle only applies to hand-painted “Home” mug in early 2025. For Blue Love, there is more stock coming later this year and the collection will be available until the end of anniversary year 2025. 

 

How much time do I have to complete the purchase?

Please notice you have 10 minutes to complete your purchase.

 

Can I get my products gift wrapped?

Unfortunately, we can’t offer that during and right after Blue Love launch. 

 

Can I make purchases using both my mobile device and desktop computer?

Yes, all devices work. Please notice that you need to use the same device to purchase as you used to join the queue.

How can I track the delivery of my product? 

You will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail with a tracking number. 

 
Are there any extra costs (taxes, duties, customs fees, etc.) I have to pay in addition to the prices shown on your website?

No. The total price is shown in the cart, including all costs.

How can I track the delivery of my product? 

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. Once you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that due to the high volume of orders, there may be delays in receiving the confirmation.

 

Can I remove products from my order or modify ordered products?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to add or remove products once the order has gone through. However, our return policy allows you 14 days to return a product.

 

Can I cancel my order?

To provide you with the fastest possible delivery, we process orders immediately after they are placed. As a result, we are unable to accommodate order cancellations. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you with prompt and efficient service. You still have the right to return the order during the 14-day exchange and return period. You can find more information about returns in the section Returns and refunds.

 
Can I change my delivery address? 

To provide you with the fastest possible delivery, we process orders immediately after they are placed. However, our customer service can check whether it is possible to make changes to the shipping address of your order. In this case, please contact our customer service here as soon as possible and state your order number, which can be found in the order confirmation. Please note that the billing address you have entered cannot be changed.

 

Can I return my order?

Yes, for all items ordered from our webstore, you have a right of return and refund during a period of 14 days from the day you receive your order. Please contact our customer service at through Contact us when you want to return your order. 
Remember to keep the receipt and include your order number in the email. You can find the order number in confirmation email we’ve sent you. All returned items must be in their original condition.

 

Can I use discount codes on my order?

Discount codes do not apply to the Blue Love novelties. 
 

What if I receive a broken product?

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please contact our Customer Service throug Contact Us and they will assist you. Indicate your name, order number and product concerned. Attach an image of damaged product if possible. You can find the order number in the shipping confirmation email we’ve sent you. Please keep the product while awaiting instructions from customer service. We would ask you to send back the broken product. Our Customer Service will arrange for the replacement or refund of such product(s). Replacements are only possible if we have the product in stock and if not, you will receive a refund.

 

What if charging my credit card fails?

If charging your card fails, we will cancel your order.

 

I have not received the product, what should I do? 

Please monitor your order tracking and be aware that delivery times may be longer than usual. You may also contact our Customer Service through Contact Us.

 

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to Finland, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany and Poland. Please select the correct country by using the globe icon on the right corner of the website.

We are not able to deliver to the following: VAT-free areas, PO Box addresses, hotels, hostels or army barracks.

We do not deliver to the following territories: In the United Kingdom, Guernsey (e.g. Alderney and Sark), Jersey or Gibraltar, as well as to the following which do not apply EU Value Added Tax regime: In Germany, Büsingen und Helgoland, Greenland, Faroe Islands or Svalbard.

Please note that the shipping and billing addresses must be in the same country.
