Terms for the Moomin Arabia Trip to Japan Raffle

Effective date: 27 January 2025

These terms (“Terms”) govern the raffle (“Raffle”) in which Moomin Arabia Family members can win a trip to Japan for two (2) persons.

By entering the Raffle, the individual (“Participant”) agrees to be bound by the Terms.

 

1. Organizer of the Raffle

The Raffle is organized:

• In Finland by Fiskars Finland Oy Ab, Keilaniementie 10, 02150 Espoo, Finland
• In Norway by Fiskars Norway AS, Lørenfaret 1C, 0585 Oslo (P.O Box 4386, 0402 Oslo), Norway
• In Sweden by Fiskars Sweden AB, Kungsbroplan 3, 112 27 Stockholm, Sweden

Each above-mentioned entity is later referred to as the “Organizer”.

 

2. Time of the Raffle and How to Participate

You can participate in the Raffle by purchasing a product from Friends Forever & Family Time collection at moominarabia.com or at a Moomin Arabia store (list of applicable stores available at https://www.moominarabia.com/fi-fi/moominvalley-park---kilpailu ("Raffle Site”), filling in required information into the Raffle form and uploading the purchase receipt. Products included in the Friends Forever & Family Time collection are listed on the Raffle Site.

The Raffle is arranged in Finland, Norway and Sweden. One winner will be drawn per each country.

The timeline for the Raffle is 27 January 2025 at 9.00 (EET) to 30 April 2025 at 23.59 (EET). Entries will be accepted only during this timeline.

 

3. Who Can Participate

All Moomin Arabia Family members who are residents of Finland, Sweden or Norway who are 18 years or older are eligible to participate in the Raffle in their country of residence. The Organizer reserves the right to verify any Participant’s eligibility and reject Participants at its sole discretion. The Organizer’s employees and external workforce and their family members may not enter the Raffle.

Purchase is required to participate in the Raffle.

 

4. The Draw

The winners of the Raffle (“Winners”) will be chosen by a random draw within five (5) days after the time to enter the Raffle has closed. Winners will be contacted by email and by phone within three (3) days after the draw. Winners must answer the email within three (3) days after the email has been sent to claim their prize. If a Winner does not answer the email or does not claim the prize within the specified time, they forfeit their right to the prize, and the Organizer reserves the right to draw and announce a new Winner. The Organizer’s decision regarding any aspect of the Raffle and the draw is final and binding.

Once a Winner has claimed the prize according to the Terms, the Organizer will provide the Winner’s name and contact details to the tour operator for the purpose of travel arrangements.

 

5. The Prize and Delivery of the Prize

Each Winner will get a prize which includes the below-mentioned items. The prize is for two persons.

Please note that this is a group trip and all Winners and their companions will travel at the same time, stay at the same hotel, share transportation and participate in the group activities (visiting Moominvalley Park and Moomin Shop) together. Representatives of the Organizer will participate in the group activities. Language of the group activities is English.

 

The prize includes:

• 5 days and 4 nights in Japan
• flights in economy class to Japan on 1st of June (plain arrives on 2nd of June) and back on 6th of June 2025 (plain arrives on 7th of June). Flight from Sweden leaves from and returns to Stockholm Arlanda airport. Flight from Norway leaves from and returns to Oslo Airport. Flight from Finland leaves from and returns to Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Winners and their companions from Sweden and Norway will have a layover at Helsinki-Vantaa airport in Finland
• transportation from the airport (Narita or Haneda, Tokyo) to the hotel and back to the airport
• four nights at a four-star hotel (room for two)
• breakfast at the hotel
• tickets to Moominvalley Park
• lunch at Moominvalley Park. Winners and their companions and representatives of the Organizer will have the lunch together. If a Winner and their companion doesn’t want to have a meal together with others, they can have lunch on their own expense. No alternate meal or funds are provided.
• transportation from hotel to Moominvalley Park and back to the hotel

 

The prize is subject to the below requirements:

• Value of one prize is approximately 7000 €.The Organizer reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control require doing so.
• The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.
• The Organizer will pay such possible taxes that it is responsible for as an Organizer of the Raffle.  Winners are responsible for any taxes applicable to them.
• The prize does not include any other elements than what are listed above. Winners and their companion are responsible for all other costs, tips and possible taxes and responsible to ensure all requirements to travel are met.
• The Winner and their companion must travel together.
• Companion must be at least 18 years old.
• The Winner and companion must travel on 1st of June - 7th of June 2025. Winners are responsible for ensuring they can travel between these dates.
• All bookings will be done by the tour operator as agreed with the Organizer.
• If the hotel requires Winners to provide a credit card when checking-in to cover any possible additional expenses incurred by the Winner or their companion, the Winner is responsible for providing a credit card and to cover any such expenses.  
• Winners and their companions must have valid and sufficient travel insurance. A certificate of valid insurance must be presented upon request. The tour operator may refuse to allow Winner or their companion to participate the trip without travel insurance.
• Winners and their companion are responsible for having the necessary travel documents (passport, visa) and ensuring that those are correct, valid, fulfilling the travel requirements in Japan (e.g., requirement that passport is valid for certain period of time after the trip has ended) and transferring through one country to another (if applicable). Winners and their companion are responsible for ensuring that the names given in the reservations are spelled in the same way on their flight ticket and travel documents.
• Winners and their companion are responsible for ensuring they meet all health and safety related requirements concerning traveling to Japan (such as having taken all required vaccinations, if applicable).
• During the trip, Winners and their companion must comply with the instructions and regulations related to the trip issued by the tour leader, authorities, Organizer or Organizer's representative.
• Winners and their companion must provide the tour operator with contact information that can be used to reach them before and during the trip.
• Winner and their companion must immediately notify the Organizer and tour operator of the cancellation of the trip and, if necessary, provide reliable evidence of the impediment, such as a medical certificate, which must indicate the circumstance that prevents traveling.
• Complaints and remarks regarding the trip must be made immediately upon occurrence to Organizer and tour operator. Claims for damages must always be made in writing, no later than 14 days after the end of the trip.

 

6. Data Protection and Publicity

If you choose to participate in the Raffle, your personal data will be processed for the purposes of carrying out the Raffle. Entering first name, last name, email address and phone number into the Raffle form and uploading the purchase receipt is required to participate in the Raffle. Participants are responsible for the correctness of the provided personal data. Personal data is processed for the purposes of contacting the Winners of the Raffle and when the prize is claimed by the Winners. Personal data is also processed for the purpose of publishing content (such as images, videos and stories) on Moominarabia.com, in the Moomin Arabia Newsletter and on Moomin Arabia social media channels. This content is created during the trip by the representatives of the Organizer. By claiming the prize, Winners give their permission for the Organizer to be included to such content and for Organizer to publish the content, including Winners’ personal data. The Organizer will disclose first name, last name and contact details of the Winners to the tour operator which will arrange the bookings and the trip. Participants are responsible for the correctness of the personal data they provide to the Organizer and to the tour operator. Personal data is primarily processed based on contract (these Terms). Personal data may also be processed to comply with possible legal obligations (tax and accounting law requirements) and for the purposes of Organizer’s legitimate interest (promoting Organizer’s business). 7. Liability

Winners and their companion are liable for any damage that they cause to themself, the Organizer or third parties through intentional, reckless or negligent conduct, including by violating these Terms.

The Organizer is not liable for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any Participants as a result of participating in the Raffle or being drawn for a prize. The Organizer is not liable for damages caused by third parties or reasons not attributable to the Organizer (such as interruption of the Raffle or damages attributable to a failure in network connections/communications). The Organizer accepts no responsibility whatsoever for damage or loss resulting from late, misdirected or incomplete submissions. By taking part in the Raffle the Participant warrants that all information submitted is true, current and complete at the time of submission.

Nothing in these Terms limits, excludes or modifies, or purports to limit, exclude or modify, the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under applicable mandatory consumer laws.

 

8. Changes to the Raffle, Trip or Terms

The Organizer reserves the right to change the Raffle and Terms or to terminate the Raffle. The Organizer will notify the Participants through the Raffle marketing channels if the Organizer needs to make material changes to the Raffle, dates, availability or other factors, or if the Organizer decides to terminate the Raffle. The Organizer reserves the right to change the Raffle and Terms in a way that does not have a material impact on Participants without prior notice to Participants.

If the Organizer or tour operator is unable to follow the provided travel plan for reasons beyond its control, the Organizer and/or tour operator reserves the right to change the travel routes and other parts of the trip, such as the schedule, accommodation and means of transport, or to make other changes to the travel program that do not substantially change the nature of the trip. For example, prevailing weather conditions may affect the travel program.

 

9. Governing Law

Unless otherwise required by applicable mandatory law, these Terms shall be governed by:

• the laws of Finland, exclusive of its choice-of-law rules and principles, regarding the Raffle arranged in Finland
• the laws of Norway, exclusive of its choice-of-law rules and principles, regarding the Raffle arranged in Norway
• the laws of Sweden, exclusive of its choice-of-law rules and principles, regarding the Raffle arranged in Sweden
